Trip to Mammoth Cave

Since I was going to Dallas for an AP Institute, I decided to take a little side trip to Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky :-)
It was a pleasant day and a half drive. I just love road trips! Enjoy as the road passes by seeing all the different landscapes.
When I arrived, I checked into a cottage. It was a small little place, no AC, no TV, very nice. After a quick shower, I went out and explored a little, talked to the rangers, oops, sorry, Park Interpreters :-), about the different tours. Very friendly! Decided on the four hour tour exploring lots of different sections of the Cave. I was then set for the talk outside...
Jackie gave a fascinating talk about different types of Caves. Great stuff, need to look more of this stuff up. Also, I didn't know this part of the U.S. had so many cave systems! Then I went to sleep, with windows open, and the soothing sounds of the creatures of the night
Next day I was ready for the Grand Avenue Tour! Had a big breakfast and ready for a 4 mile walk through undulating landscape. I gotta say Ranger Rick was a great tour guide through the Cave. He gave us geology, biology, and historical lessons. Didn't know the Mammoth Cave had such a dynamic history. I can only say that it was Awesome!

Just before leaving Kentucky, I came across the National Corvette Museum so I had to stop :-) Only had 30 minutes so I quickly went through everything, took as many pics as I could. Figured I could enjoy them later....
